April 14, 2017 CHW has again sponsored and participated in the annual Statewide Preservation Conference. This year’s conference took place April 6-8th in Rochester, New York. CHW Partner, Tim Favaro, was part of a panel of speakers for the session titled Historic Tax Credits and Affordable Housing. He joined panelists Julian Adams, Director, Community Preservation Services Bureau, NYS Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation; Stephanie Benson, Partner and Chief Operating Officer, Edgemere Development, Inc.; and Leonard Skrill, Assistant Commissioner, NYS Homes & Community Renewal. CHW Extends Scholarship Fund Deadline

The application deadline for the annual CHW Scholarship Fund has been extended to April 28, 2017. In order to qualify for the Scholarship Fund, applicants must reside in an affordable rental housing development. CHW created its Scholarship Fund in 2013 as a means of helping students living in affordable rental housing developments realize the dream of furthering their educational training. Providing financial aid to qualified students is an extension of the CHW mission and reflective of its commitment to the affordable housing industry and community development. The Scholarship Fund, which is entirely underwritten by CHW, awards scholarships to students seeking full- and part-time undergraduate study at approved colleges, junior colleges, technical schools and other post-secondary institutions leading to a degree, diploma, or certificate. CHW Nominated as Business First “Best Places to Work”

March 1, 2017 CHW was again nominated as a Buffalo Business First “Best Places to Work” in Western New York. Annually, the publication invites local companies to voluntarily complete a Quantum Workplace employee engagement survey, which measures six key engagement categories: communication, employee needs, manager effectiveness, personal engagement, team dynamic and trust in leadership. Nominees are divided into five categories, according to company size. CHW fell into the “micro” level category (10-24 employees). The firm had an overwhelmingly positive response, which resulted in their nomination for this celebrated award.
