CHW to Co-sponsor Third Annual Upstate Affordable Housing Conference
CHW will be one of several local and national organizations to sponsor the Third Annual Upstate Affordable Housing Conference. The event will take place on Thursday, September 21st at the Albright-Knox Art Gallery, with sessions from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. and a cocktail reception to follow. The conference has been organized in conjunction with the NYS Bar Association, NYS Association for Affordable Housing, DHCR and the UB Law School Affordable Housing Clinic.
The conference will feature a variety of affordable housing topics, including panels and case study discussions on local government initiatives in affordable housing; historic rehabilitation and preservation; special needs housing; and joint ventures between non-profits and for-profits.
CHW partner Steven J. Weiss, Esq. is one of the conference’s co-chairs and will be the moderator for a panel on Housing for Unique Tenant Populations with a case study on Artspace Affordable Live/Work Lofts in Buffalo. Weiss, a graduate of UB’s School of Management (B.S. 1987, M.B.A. 1988) and UB’s School of Law (J.D. 1991), will also serve as a panelist on a preliminary session titled Affordable Housing 101.
